Frayed explores the unconscious mind’s nightly processing of trauma. The film stars the talented Stephen Stone along with hypnotic guidance by the soothing voice of Dr. Neil Soggie. The film is both a visual and auditory adventure.

The Great Invisible

The Great Invisible

I’m overwhelmed at the moment so my words are limited on how to explain what an experience it has been to spend the last couple of days at the premiere of the documentary The Great Invisible directed by Margaret Brown. Margaret in addition to everyone that has worked on this film are genuinely amazing people. And we thank you for helping us have a voice about all of the important issues that surround the Deepwater Horizon oil spill tragedy. And to put the cherry on top of all of this, it was announced last night that The Great Invisible won SXSW’s Documentary Feature: Grand Jury Award! It feels so gratifying for all of us involved in this journey to realize that people care enough to want to hear our stories. Please see this film. Please keep talking about this film and the important issues surrounding it. And keep an eye open in the film for a few of the portraits that I painted of survivors of this important historical event.

Some of the greatest memories we hold are from when we were young.

Some of the greatest memories we hold are from when we were young.

A long time friend of mine came to me with the most thoughtful idea for a commissioned gift for his wife. His lovely wife lost her father a short time before the two of them were married some years back. On their wedding day, the bride carried a sweet photo of her father and her as a young girl reading a book together. The commission was for a ceramic sculpture based on this photograph. Can you think of a more thoughtful gift? BIG points! I am honored that he trusted me to create a piece that captures this special memory. They received the sculpture last night! I couldn’t be more pleased to hear how much both he and his wife love their new keepsake!

Stone Oil Painting, Landsccape
Frostburg, 3′ x 4′ Oil on canvas

Frostburg, MD. A place where I spent some time.

The tree in the painting is located on one of the many rolling Appalachian mountains of Frostburg. The painting is a reproduction of a photograph that I took while I lived there.
